as a major public health issue. The status of social support for caregivers with dementia is becoming increasingly
important. There are many types of research on social support interventions for caregivers with dementia, with
different intervention methods and effects, and there is a lack of latest summary.

interventions for caregivers of old adults with dementia, and provide an overview of the interventions
used for dementia caregivers and summarize the ideas to choose effective methods.

Methods: The study follows the requirements of JBI methodology systematic evaluation and meta-
analysis extension of scope review. Computer searches of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane
Library, CINAHL, China Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, and
Wanfang databases were conducted from the establishment of the database until July 2023.
Results: There are 30 studies met the inclusion criteria that focused on social support intervention
for caregivers caring old adults of dementia. Common social support interventions include multi-
component interventions(n=18), peer support(n=6), health education(n=2), counselling group(n=2),
mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention(n=1) and individual therapy(n=1). With majority
interventions have shown a positive conclusion for caregiving social support, while the multi-
component intervention has been proven to be the most effective methodologies.
Conclusion: The results of our review highlight the various types of social support interventions
in improving support for caregivers of dementia, the evaluation tools of social support should be
