General Information
• Phone
Oversea phones are available at the hotel. Please contact hotel room services.
• Transportation
The most common way for people to travel around Chiang Mai is by songtaew or small red cars
(they look like red pick-ups with a roof). Rides between conference hotels and downtown
generally start from 30THB. Tuk-tuks (three wheeled taxis) are also available but their
fare will usually be higher. Either of these forms of transport can be “flagged down”
anywhere in the city. Just tell the driver your destination. It is recommended that
you negotiate a price before commencing your trip. The Grab phone application is also a
common way to get around. However, the hotel staff can also arrange for transportation.
• First Aid Assistance
A registered nurse will be on duty at the first aid room located on the ground floor from 9:00 am
th
th
th
to 5:30 pm on September 4 and 5 , and from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on September 6 , to
provide primary medical services. Participants who need medical attention for serious health
problems will be transferred to the university hospital for appropriate treatment. Participants
are responsible for all medical expenses.
• Emergency
In the event of an emergency, please evacuate using the nearest exit in an orderly manner.
Please approach conference secretariat or hotel staff for assistance if required.
