Background: Kidney transplantation (KT) is the ultimate method in the correction of renal failures
(RF). Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is the indicator representing the perceived quality of an
individual’s daily life related to health. Previous studies reported that RF caused various negative
outcomes on individuals’ HRQoL. Little is known about HRQoL and its related factors among kidney
           transplant recipients (KTRs).

Objective: This study aimed to examine the level of HRQoL and test relationships among HRQoL and
           related factors.

Methods: Participants were 110 KTRs who completed KT more than three months in three tertiary
hospitals in central Thailand. The instruments used for data collection included 1) the demographic
and clinical data form; 2) the Kidney Transplantation Self-Management Scale [KTSMS]; 3) the Kidney
           Transplantation Self-Care Self-Efficacy Scale [KTSCSES]; 4) the Social Support Questionnaire [SSQ];
and 5) the KDQOL-SF Version 1.3. Reliability of KTSMS,KTSCSES, SSQ were tested by Cronbach’s alpha,
yielding .90, .78, and .82. The reliability of the KDQOL-SF Version 1.3 was performed by test re-tested and
yielded 0.99. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient.

Results: The results showed that 52.7% of KTRs had a good level and 39.1% had an excellent level
of HRQoL. Based on four main dimensions of Zhan’ s HRQoL, more than 50% of KTRs reported that
they have excellent levels in all dimensions of HRQoL. The results also show that perceived self-care
self-efficacy, social support, and self-management were significantly positively correlated with HRQoL
           among KTRs (r = .318, p< 0.01; r =.269, p< 0.01; r =.197, p < 0.05).
                                                                                                                      Poster Presentation Abstracts

Conclusion: The results of this study might be useful for healthcare providers working in this area in
           promoting KTRs’ HRQoL.
