Background: Jaundice in newborns is indeed a significant health concern worldwide, while mild jaundice
is common in newborns and often resolves on its own, severe cases can be dangerous if left untreated. The
length of stay for mothers and their newborns in the hospital after childbirth can vary depending on
various factors such as the health of the mother and baby. The hospital stay allows healthcare
professionals to provide essential care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with breastfeeding, and
offering guidance on newborn care related to jaundice treatment revolves around managing bilirubin
levels to prevent complications and ensure the baby’s health and well-being. By providing mothers with
comprehensive information and knowledge about jaundice, and enhancement of their self-efficacy,
mothers be able to properly monitor for jaundice and manage the treatment and care, ensuring that
           babies receive treatment on time.

Objective: This study aimed to develop a program to enhance mothers’ knowledge and skills in caring
for infants with jaundice undergoing phototherapy.

Methods: The research tools included: 1) Six video clips on TikTok, length within 3 minutes 2) An
infographic guide providing knowledge about jaundice 3) Data collection instruments consisted of a
general information questionnaire for mothers and infants, a self-efficacy questionnaire, a knowledge
questionnaire, and a behavior questionnaire assessing mothers’ care practices for infants with jaun
           dice undergoing phototherapy.

Results: These tools were reviewed and validated by a committee of five experts before being
implemented. The results of a tryout study with 10 subjects yielded questionnaire reliability values of
                                                                                                                      Poster Presentation Abstracts
           0.75, 0.72, and 0.70.

Conclusion: These results suggest that the questionnaires are reliable therefore the Quasi-experimental
research will be conducted to refine and improve accuracy and comprehensiveness results.
