Background: Pneumonia is the number one disease in the unit, and in conjunction with the care group
strategy of the pneumonia Enhanced recovery program care team, the case can be discharged
smoothly. However, individual education and training for caregivers are required before discharge,
and caregivers learn care before returning home. Differences in care can easily lead to care questions
and risks. We use multimedia audio-visual and assistive device teaching to improve the current
situation, establish effective discharge health education strategies, improve caregivers’ learning
effects, and continue care capabilities and safety after discharge.
Objective: This article aims to explore the effectiveness of using multimedia audio-visual health
education icons to strengthen the care effectiveness of discharge preparation.
Methods: (1) Construct discharge care content (nasogastric tube feeding, chest physical care,
suction techniques, etc.) (2) Produce audio-visual health education content (3) Construct a QR code
health education map.
Results: Interventional multimedia audio and video can improve the effectiveness of ward discharge
preparation. Patients or family members’ satisfaction with interventional multimedia audio and video
health education in discharge care increased from 82% to 97%. The additional benefit showed that nursing
staff’s satisfaction with interventional multimedia audio and video health education on discharge care
increased from 82% to 97%. The very satisfactory level of care increased from 78% to 98%.
Conclusion: The discharge health education video tool is effective in health education. It produces
QR Code patterns, changes the traditional paper, and uses a variety of multimedia videos to achieve
energy saving and carbon reduction benefits. Make good use of the convenience of multimedia
audio-visual health education, and increase learning understanding through the replay feature, allowing
learners to deepen their memory, safely care for their families, and avoid returning to the hospital due to
problems with care skills.
