Welcome Message from the President of Chiang Mai University
On behalf of Chiang Mai University, I am truly honored to welcome you all
to Thailand’s Rose of the North – Chiang Mai – for the Faculty of Nursing’s
international conference: Global Health Recalibration: Strengthening
Outcomes, Education, Clinical Practice, and Research.
The broad scope of this conference content underlines its gravity – while
the foundation of global health has been well-constructed, adjustment and
realignment in education, practice, and research are certainly challenges
facing nursing and health professionals, both presently and in the future.
The state of the nursing literature reflects ongoing advancements and
lively scholarly discourse: evidenced-based practice has been shown to
impact patient outcomes, while innovations, including approaches such
as simulation-based learning, are becoming more prevalent. Clinically,
guidelines and protocols are increasingly important for healthcare delivery,
and interdisciplinary research is increasingly necessary for responding to
healthcare challenges.
Strengthening and supporting these key aspects of nursing scholarship
and practice will result in benefits to human populations the world over.
And this is a key reason why all of you have joined together here – to learn,
share, and work with other nursing professionals in the hope of providing
your own key contributions to your field.
Finally, many thanks to our eminent co-hosts and co-sponsors. Without
their input and support, this conference would be unrealizable. My warm
wishes to each and every one of you for a productive and beneficial
learning experience over the next few days, as well as for a fulfilling and
enjoyable stay in vibrant Chiang Mai.
